Her goal is to facilitate reasonable resolution of Medicare reimbursement issues consistent with the existing law with as much finality as the system allows, and to mitigate her clients’ potential exposure to new and existing statutory penalties. Ms. Thomas’s approach emphasizes cooperation between all sides, so that navigating the complex and often confusing maze of Medicare reimbursement law and procedure is made easier for all.
Her experience enables her to formulate innovative approaches and solutions to issues that arise in the complex case, and to assist clients where appeal, waiver or reduction of Medicare demands for reimbursement are appropriately sought. Ms. Thomas has been a panelist at seminars addressing the Medicare reimbursement system and pending changes in the law, and has been fortunate to work closely with Roy Franco, the driving force behind MARC (the Medicare Recovery Advocacy Coalition), and others to anticipate and promptly respond to additional change to the medicare secondary payee status and regulations.
She has spoken about Medicare reimbursement law and procedure throughout the State of California, and was invited to be a panelist in a two-hour presentation on Medicare reimbursement law at the 50th Annual convention of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada in December, 2009.
